About Allie Grantz

Founder. Owner. Instructor.

My journey into health and fitness began more than 20 years ago when I took on my very first training client, ME! At the time, I was overweight and very unhappy. The more unhappy I became the more the scale went up. To say the least, it was a vicious cycle. To end the cycle I decided to join a gym (which was probably the scariest thing I had ever done). I took residence on an exercise bike where I observed everything in my line of vision for the next few weeks. The one thing that really stood out to me is that none of the trainers really paid much attention to their clients. A switch flipped and I decided I was going to start studying to become a trainer. I wanted to become the trainer that I never saw at that gym - attentive, caring, and informed. During this time I also found a love for indoor cycling and taught for over 10 years in the Lehigh Valley. Life has a way of coming full circle and I’m so happy to be back in the saddle!!

On the bike: One of the things I love the most about indoor cycling is the music. Music has the ability to turn a not-so-good day into a great day. I love watching people challenge themselves through a tough climb or sprint and realize when they’re done that they did it!

Off the bike: My favorite muscle groups to train are legs and biceps. Don’t worry though, we’ll be hitting them all up!!

What are we listening to? Anything upbeat and probably a lot of Pitbull.

MERCEDES PEIL

Fitness is my passion, both personally and professionally. From designing and executing my own workout programs in the gym to being CycleFit's most tenured coach (after Allie, of course), I’m fully committed to it. What motivates me? The reward of sharing this passion, empowering others to push their limits and discover their full strength.

Whether on the bike or mat, I offer challenging workouts in an encouraging environment where all experience levels are welcome. To keep things interesting, I might coach a fully choreographed cycling class or completely wing it to music that inspires me. But one thing is true about every class - it’s a damn good time.

What we're listening to: High-energy EDM, or dark, hard-hitting pop also known as salt or music that might make you question who hurt me. Really, we're listening to anything with a beat. You’ll be surprised what I’ll hit a tapback to.

On the bike: My cycling classes are fast paced and engaging. I change positions a lot to keep us moving and to distract us from the heavy resistance and unnecessarily long pushes built into my choreography. There’s no shortage of sweat.

Off the bike: Sometimes I’ll do the workout with you, sometimes I won’t, it all depends on the amount of coaching the class needs. Either way, every class includes a great workout, good music, and all the energy I have to give.

CRISTIE DEREA

My fitness journey began many years ago. I started out taking group classes and running and eventually began teaching myself. In 2016 I decided to "retire" from teaching and focus a little more on myself. In 2019, I competed in my first body building competition. Along the way I have also ran many 5ks, 10ks and half marathons. I currently and working toward becoming an ultra runner. The best part of sharing my love for fitness is watching others "catch the bug" and change their lives for the better!

On the bike: I will push you, but we will have a blast doing it! When you come into my class, you never know what I might throw at you but I can assure you, you'll leave feeling great!

Off the bike: I can usually be found in the woods! I love trail running and finding new places to go. When I'm not running, I'm on my ATV or snowmobile in Tug Hill NY.

What are we listening to:  I love all kinds of music and finding fun ways to set my class to it. We'll be riding to anything from rock, 90s hip hop, today's hits and country. I love a good theme as well!

COURTNEY HAMMERSTONE

I've always been an active person. My passion for fitness developed at a young age through participation in youth sports. I continued to play basketball and field hockey, ultimately finishing my field hockey career at the collegiate level. When no longer a competitive athlete, I struggled to find purpose in training. I soon realized, however, that exercise is not a tool for us to reach our goals, but instead a pivotal part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I believe that fitness is not just about physical health, but also about mental health and well-being. It's important to take time to prioritize our health, and I hope that my class can act as an escape from the stressors of daily life and allow you to focus on yourself for a while.

Over the years, I have still found ways to feed my competitive spirit - most notably participating in a few half marathons. However, my decision to join the CycleFit team was not driven by competition, but rather community. I attended a few classes and felt an overwhelming sense of motivation from those around me. It allowed me to feel the sense of comradery and fulfillment that I had been lacking. One of my favorites parts of exercising in a group setting is seeing people accomplish things they never thought possible. Whether it's pushing through a tough climb or setting a new personal record, I love seeing people surprise themselves and feel pride in their accomplishments. Together, we can push through the tough moments and celebrate the small victories. My goal is to create a positive, energizing and supportive environment where everyone feels welcomed and valued, regardless of fitness level or experience. Let's work hard, laugh, and sweat together!

SARAH PEZZINO

Introduced to fitness at a young age, I have always thrived in the fitness community. From spartan races, triathlons, MMA, soccer, basketball, CrossFit, running, cycling, I feel like I have done it all. Now a full time student at Lafayette College majoring in Biology with a concentration in Nutrition & Fitness to turn my love of health and fitness into a career. Fitness is more than a passion for me, it is where I am expressing the very best version of myself while motivating people to achieve their goals! There is no greater opportunity then coaching and cheering on individuals though their journey.

No matter the skill level endorphins welcome everyone and so do I. I am so excited to be joining the CycleFit coaching family! When I see you on the bikes/benches get ready for a fun  playlist, sprints, and a sweet sweat (especially if it's upper body day-my favorite)!

And don’t forgot to bring your smiles, sweat towels, high fives, and good vibes cause we are clipped in for a good ride. Can’t wait to see you on the bikes :)

JESS ZEINER

Growing up, I always gravitated towards the fitness community. I used movement as my outlet through several sports all the way through high school: cheer, dance, track, etc. Being an athlete was a huge part of my identity so after graduating high school it was a struggle to leave that piece of me behind. It took a while and trying out a lot of different things before finding my new passion. When I discovered cycling, my excitement for fitness was reignited.

I am currently a full time student at Penn State, University Park majoring in Elementary Education and minoring in Special Education, Child Development, and Deafness and Hearing Studies. Last Spring I decided to combine my passion for fitness with my love for teaching by getting my ACE group fitness instructor certification and Schwinn Cycling Certification. I have been teaching cycling and muscle conditioning classes at Penn State for over a year and it is the best thing I have ever done! I am beyond excited to join the CycleFit community. I design my classes using high energy music that makes you feel like you are having a dance party. I strive to create a well rounded ride that focuses on both strength and endurance that leaves you feeling accomplished and stronger! Join me for a ride that will invigorate your body and spirit!

AMRI SHEPHERD

While I was always involved in sports growing up, my fitness journey didn't truly begin until recently. Going into college I found out the hard way that all the rumors about the freshman 15 (or 40) are true! I was overweight, unhappy, and uneducated in what steps to take to better my body and my health. I had many miserable go-arounds with the scale, and I felt completely stuck. As an education major, I decided it was time to do research and become my own teacher. I took the time to invest in myself and learn what my body needs when it comes to movement and nutrition. While figuring out how to navigate the gym, I was also in search of a fitness studio that wanted to invest in me just as much as I was. I came across CycleFit from one search on Instagram, and I decided to roll with it. Best decision ever made! I fell in love with the bike and lifting in a small group setting. Not only have I gained strength and knowledge, but I’ve also gained the confidence to become a certified spin instructor and be a role model in someone else's fitness journey.

On the bike/ mat - I love a hard workout. I’m always down to dig deep, put in the work, and let the sweat pour off of me, but I promise we’ll have fun doing it. All levels of experience are welcome, no matter where you are in your own journey. This is a hater free zone!

Off the bike/mat- I am a student at Kutztown University! I am set to graduate in May 2026 with a dual major in Elementary Education and Special Education and a minor in Psychology. Besides being a spin instructor on campus, I am also the Vice President of Kutztown's chapter of Best Buddies, where Kutztown University students can get paired with individuals with intellectual disabilities from the community and build lifelong friendships.

What are we listening to- My playlists are always filled with upbeat 2000s-2010s music! You’ll be hearing lots of  Rihanna, Pitbull, and Britney Spears.

TODD SELL

After years of the same old daily routine, I fell in love with quick and concise early morning workouts. Starting the day by challenging myself helped me feel great not just physically but brought on significant mental clarity and toughness. We are meant to move!! After taking some cycling and hiit classes at a local gym, I realized I could potentially help others feel better so decided to get certified. I design my cycling class as if it's an outdoor ride with some mixed upper body movements if time and format permit. I also enjoy coaching strength training classes and can't wait to help you reach your goals.

As always, music makes the class, I take pride in staying current while mixing in the favorites as well.

TARA HALL

Hi! My name is Tara and I am super excited to join the CycleFit coaching team!! I am a mother of four and a Forks resident since 1998. I always loved to exercise while raising our children and working as a school teacher. As a now empty-nester and my family pushing me to turn my passion into a part time career I pursued my indoor cycling certification. Upon passing I started my new fitness journey, teaching spin classes with the goal of becoming a CycleFit instructor. That dream has come true.

I can't wait to be under the blue lights, tapping back with you and bringing my all to the best community.

SAM EVANS

Fitness has always been my outlet-from playing sports growing up to diving headfirst into Crossfit in my twenties. Movement is my constant. It's where I recharge, reset and reconnect with myself. Becoming a parent only deepened my appreciation for fitness. Let's be honest, parenthood is basically a full time endurance sport! CycleFit became a huge part of my life in 2022. It kept me strong, sane, and ready for the birth of my third child-who probably recognized Allie's voice before my own thanks to the amount of classes I took!

As CycleFit evolved and TRAIN opened, it quickly became my even happier place. I do my best thinking while being lovingly heckled by Coach Sarah to lift heavier-and thanks to my competitive streak, I always do. Whether its on the bike or under the barbell, I'm here for the sweat, the community, and the laughs. Let's ride, lift, and push each other to be our strongest selves.

TAIBA SALLOUM

Hi! I'm Taiba (Te-ba). My true fitness journey began a little over four years ago. After years of putting movement on the back burner while raising my three young girls I knew I needed a change. I was uncomfortable in my own body. One day I committed to a group fitness class and it changed everything-it became a daily routine that transformed my health, confidence, and strength.

Today, I'm passionate about helping others find that same joy through movement. I love all things fitness:cycling, strength training, hiit, and of course Pilates. I'm excited to share this journey with you! To me movement is medicine, the best kind and I can't wait to see you you on the mat making those muscles burn so good!!
